HendoHooligan, Only worth it if you upgrade to Pro for $$$ Installed the free version after the “check engine” light came on in my car. Easy installed & easily connected to the dongle via WiFi.
Gives you some interesting but very, very basic data but if you actually want the app to be useful, you have to either start paying $5/month or $20/year (automatically renewed) for the “Pro” version. This basic version here doesn’t even detect the check engine light is on, let-alone tell you what the problem is. I’d rather give my $$ to a business that’s nice enough to give you some honest useability in their free version.
Developer Response, Did you know that you can get the Pro only for one month? No need to pay monthly or yearly fee, you can cancel anytime. The adapter I used is a Kobra Wireless that uses WiFi to connect to an app. OBD Auto Doctor connected successfully once but then couldn't get it to do so again after half a dozen attempts. OBD2 Expert was a no-go from the start since it wanted several $s to even get to the connection window. Kumki full movie download.
IOBD2 did not connect successfully. The only thing the app shows is a little banner while attempting to connect and then shows Connection Failure. Only Car Scanner was able to connect everytime and provided LOTS (183 sensors) of useful information about the car and, importantly, for free. Although there are very unintrusive advertisements on the bottom of the screen, one can upgrade to the Pro version for a donation varying from $2.99 to 4.99 - your choice! It worked one time out of the box. After that, within minutes of opening the box, I could not connect with my iPhone at all. I tried it on two different cars, but once it quit working, it was dead. I am returning it. UPDATE - I discovered that if I disconnect and reconnect the WIFI connection it works perfectly with several iPhone 7 apps that I have downloaded. It's doing everything it is supposed to, therefore I am bumping the rating up to 5 stars.
I blame myself for not figuring this our more quickly. SO, the morale of the story is, if you are having a communication problem, try disconnecting and reconnecting the WIFI. That fixed it for me. PROS: The sensor and app work as advertised and solve a longstanding and irritating problem for me. My car is 13 years old and for the last two or three years the check engine light comes on because the catalytic converter is not working well enough to meet exhaust standards. Since I'm not going to replace the catalytic converter, I've had to get the check engine light cleared by a repair shop at least four times now, and a couple of months later it will come back on again. Now, with FIXD, I can verify that the warning light is for the catalytic converter and not for something more serious, and I can clear the light myself without having to go to a repair shop.
CONS: The setup instructions could be clearer and the app a little more user-friendly. The instructions basically tell you to download the app, install the sensor. Absolutely love this thing i wish i had this years ago. A must have for everyone!!!
You can use this in so many ways when using the right app. I use car doctor pro i can do everything from just engine checking codes and resetting too reading almost all parameters (fuel trims, MAF, MAP, IAT, CET, etc.) needed for diagnosing. Multiple parameter recording available for doing things such as volumetric efficiency test (bad maf sensor diagnostic) or just simple fuel economy levels. Ive diagnosed many problems and saved myself tons of money by having this! I can leave it plugged in to my car (hasnt been removed for months) and i always keep the bluetooth synced to my phone so all i have to do is connect through app in juat seconds.
And for the price really only question is 'Why not!' Bottom Line: this inexpensive device saved me hundreds and works perfectly fine. This is not my first scanner. I had previously purchased a traditional style battery powered cable module that worked very well.
The only problem with it is that I lost the cable, and the cost to replace it was more than this entire module. As far as I can tell, this is basically a dongle that you can insert into the ODBII port on your car and just leave it, using the mobile phone application whenever data is needed. The only area that needs improving is the software menus; it works fine, but it is tedious to back in and out of the code descriptions if you need to read and understand multiple codes. Definitely not a deal breaker, or something that I can truly fault the device for- especially at this price.
Just got this today.I am using the 'OBD Fusion' app from the Apple store to go with this code reader, I think the app is currently $9.99. Anyway, I successfully got this to work with my iPhone 6 iOS 10 using WiFi connect.
I was able to connect on my 2004 F150, 2006 Jeep Wrangler, and 2011 Volvo S60 and get readings from all three. The app has great diagnostics and should make troubleshooting a bit easier. Keep in mind the app is a separate purchase and not included with the reader, but the reader does a great job and appears compatible with my three vehicles. I was a little hesitant to buy a cheap OBD2 reader but it was on sale for $18 so I figured 'why not'. This one connects without any fuss and supports enough codes that it should work in just about any US car.
It's really all you could ask for. One tip that isn't included in the instructions - your engine needs to actually be running for this to connect.
The wifi indicator will light up but your phone will not connect until the engine is running. This is probably standard knowledge to gearheads, but this is my first OBD reader. Just passing this along.

Modern cars have computer systems built-in that allow for repair technicians and vehicle owners to get pertinent information about the health of their car. On-board diagnostics (OBD) systems in modern cars that monitor emission related controls, engine performance and detects for malfunctions. Over the years OBD systems have become more sophisticated.
